Frequently asked questions
What is Raise 365, and how is it different from Zeffy?
The main difference is who pays, and for how long. Raise 365 is a managed fundraising app for schools, teams and groups: it sets up and runs the campaign, and its Terms of Service bill the account owner a 5.00% card payment fee plus $1.75 per unit on the first two units. Zeffy is a free platform your school runs itself, with student pages, a store, donations, tickets and a donor CRM in one account, and no fee on any of them.
How much does Raise 365 keep, and who pays its fees?
Raise 365 publishes one fee, in section 6 of its Terms of Service: "a 5.00% credit card payment fee plus the $1.75 per unit transaction fee (for the first two units purchased only)". The account owner pays it.
- Card payment fee: 5.00%, through the BuyNow payment service.
- Transaction fee: $1.75 per unit, for the first two units purchased only.
- Other fees: "set forth on the Mobile Application", not on the website.
- Refunds: none on termination.
On Zeffy, your school keeps the whole gift or sale. See how Zeffy is free.
Raise 365 or Zeffy: which fits a school fundraiser?
Pick Raise 365 if you want a company to set up and run the drive, with text reminders, student prizes and a Blitz 60 event, and you accept its card payment fee and the fees set in its app. Pick Zeffy if your school can run its own campaign and wants to keep every dollar, then reuse the same supporter list for the next drive, the spring gala or monthly giving.
Can we run a student fundraiser on Zeffy?
Yes. Each student gets a page with a personal goal, photo and message, and fundraiser and team leaderboards show who is ahead. Supporters give, or buy your own merch in a free online store, and cash or checks logged on a student's page count toward their goal. Zeffy does not text students or run a prize program; you can email all your fundraisers from the campaign.
What does Raise 365 offer that Zeffy doesn't?
A managed setup, text reminders to students, prizes students customize, the Blitz 60 team event and a digital discount card. Zeffy has no managed campaigns or prize program. Your school runs its own campaign on Zeffy, with participant pages, leaderboards and a store at no cost.
Is Zeffy really free?
Yes. A school pays Zeffy nothing: no card fee, no per-unit fee, no subscription. When supporters give or buy, they can add an optional contribution to Zeffy on top, and the school's amount is never reduced. See how Zeffy is free.
