Is Mightycause really free?

Not per gift. The Starter plan costs $0 a month, but 7.9% + $0.30 comes off each gift unless the donor covers it. Its help center puts peer-to-peer, event pages and the Contacts CRM on Essentials or Accelerate, annual plans whose price is not published; Mightycause quotes event fundraising from $119 a month. Zeffy has no plan to buy and takes nothing from a gift.

Who receives the donation on Mightycause?

Mightycause Charitable Foundation. Mightycause works as a donor-advised fund: each gift is legally a gift to its foundation, which receipts it as a donor-advised contribution and keeps legal control of the funds, including the right to choose an alternate charity. It then regrants the money to your nonprofit, generally on the 10th of the next month, or twice a month with direct deposit. Because gifts go to a DAF, its terms bar raffles and tickets in exchange for a donation. On Zeffy, donors give to your nonprofit directly, and payouts reach your bank every Monday.

Does Mightycause have a donor CRM?

Yes, on a paid plan. Its Contacts CRM has over 60 customizable fields, segments, notes and follow-up tasks, and its help center shows it only to nonprofits with the necessary subscription. Zeffy's CRM is complete, and it's free. Each donation, ticket and membership creates or updates a contact by itself, grouped into households if you want. Can you sell tickets or run raffles and auctions on Mightycause?

Not natively. Tickets go through an Eventbrite integration on Mightycause event pages, which its help center lists under Accelerate. Its terms forbid raffles and lotteries, and auctions and an online store are not publicly mentioned. Zeffy sells tickets and runs silent auctions, raffles and a store at no cost, and every buyer joins your donor CRM.
